Jesus College currently offers one annual essay prize to potential students. The Lord Toulson Essay Prize in Law. This annual essay prize is awarded to a secondary school student who shows an outstanding understanding of, and ability in, law.
Lord Toulson (1946-2017) was a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. He was educated at Mill Hill School, London, and at 16, he came to Jesus College to study law. He worked as a barrister for many years, before being appointed as a judge of the High Court in 1996.
The winner and all runners up will be invited to attend an award ceremony at Jesus College in late summer 2017. Essays may be up to 1,500 words in length, including any footnotes and headings.
